Availability of the BF Deal Sampler as a CD is a long time question for many people. There are plans in the near future to release the Album on CD, and when it is, it will be on sale through this site. A new system has been set up here on the new site where you can purchase Mp3's of the songs, individually or as one whole CD. Each song is a dollar; the whole CD is twelve. Unfortunately the album art is not yet ready, as we are in the process of finding the best way to take the true album art and create a CD cover from it. The assistance of a local graphics shop will be employed to create the art. Once that is done, the cover art will be available as well. You can purchase the Mp3's at this link The Songs. In 1976 a visionary Musician Record Producer by the name of Mike Williams approached four very talented and young Musicians with the idea of putting together a record sampler, a compilation of four artists representing a mix of Folk Music, Country, Pop, Blues and Eclectic Songs from the Austin Music scene. After some deliberation and discussion the birth of the BF Deal Sampler Vol. 1 was complete. The group of songwriters, engineers, musicians and producer took themselves to the Pecan Street Studio and proceeded to spend hours compiling one of the most under rated works coming out of the Austin Music Scene. The four artists were Frank Zigal, Will Walker, John Garza and Nanci Griffith, each one presenting three songs for this musical sampler. This site is the official home page of the BF Deal Sampler Vol. 1 (released 1977) and will be an ongoing work to update and present the facts of the making of this album and the people who were a part of it. |
